Week 35

Hello to all you peoples. How's it going? Sweet. Good stuff.

Let's see let's see. Things that happened this week. Well this past weekend, I went with one of our Zone Leaders to their area right outside of Firenze, a place called Montevarchi. Cool, small town. We went and saw one of their investigators, this Muslim guy from Pakistan named Arshad. Super cool guy. He asks the most amazing, simple questions. These questions are so simple but really thought provoking because they are things that we just know, but can't really explain easily and well for people who've never heard of something. Like "What is the Holy Ghost?" and stuff like that, things that we very well understand, but he has never even heard in his life. Great guy, probably will be baptized one day.

Another fun thing was we went over to a member's house. This guy is from Congo and his name is Nsimba, pronounced, yes, like Simba. And yes my companion and I always start singing Circle of Life when we bring up Nsimba. But the reason this visit to Nsimba was so special is because we ate fufu... Which is a rare, Milan Mission delicacy from Africans. Basically fufu is this ball of flour that they make and then you pull off a piece and eat it with some type of paste kinda thing, usually with fish, chicken, cheese, and other things. And you eat it with your hands, which is always exciting. I was going to take a picture, but I didn't. So yeah. But it's really good. Fufu. Mmmm.

And yeah, that was all the excitement from this week.

I read these two really cool Ensign articles from Elders Bednar and Holland.

In this one, Elder Bednar talks a ton about technology and how we sometimes miss out on things as they really are because of technology. He talks about how Satan, lacking a body, tries to make us use our bodies in ways that we go against God. But at the end he talks about how our generation is a chosen generation, how we have a greater capacity for obedience than previous generations. That really hit me, especially being a missionary where obedience is talked about so much and is so essential to this work.

Then this one by Elder Holland. This is kind of like that one video about New Year's and Lot's wife. It's the whole concept of leaving our past in the past, but also learning from it and being better. He talks about the Atonement and how it really does work and all that good stuff. He says to "Remember Lot's Wife." We need to always remember that what God has in store for us is ALWAYS better than where we are now. He knows perfectly who we can become and He is leading us there, we just have to follow Him and we'll get there one day.

That's about it. You guys rock. Keep doing great things. Keep lovin' God and doing what He says because you love Him. If you do that, He'll take you places you can't even imagine. He did it and still is doing that for me. Try it out. You'll see the difference. Have a fantastical week!
