Peace, Patience

Well this week. I don't remember what happened.

Uhm. Thursday we had New Missionary Training. That was fun for a 4th time. The training is the same but always good stuff to be reminded of, that's for sure. For our branch lunch on Sunday, Anz. Schwiermann made some sweet chicken alfredo, which is most definitely not Italian food. But we wanted all the Italians to taste the fake American Italian food. They didn't like it. Too much butter. I don't blame them. It hurt my stomach eating honestly. That's really it from this week.

So just a couple random thoughts from the Bible from this week. Sorry I'm tired and really lazy right now.

Hebrews 11:25
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

I've definitely seen this principle in the past couple of years. Following Christ in every way possible brings a real, lasting joy. It's been evident to me, especially out here, that it is always worth it to just do what we've been asked to by God. It is always the better idea, even if it seems to bring affliction. The pleasure of sin will literally only last a season, while the joy at comes from suffering affliction with the people of God will last an eternity.

Hebrews 12:11
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

At first, chastisement, pains, afflictions, all of life in general, it seems grievous, as Paul puts it. I totally agree with that. It does. It's just hard a lot of the times. But afterwards, we will receive the peaceable fruit of righteousness that God has for us, all His glory. That is what we're going for. Sometimes the seas are stormy, but Christ will never leave us. He is always there watching and He will come, according to His time and His will. We just have to be patient for God's will to be done. That's vital to our growth process.
