Week 39?

Delicious homemade pizzas everyone. It was awesome. We do it every week and Anz. Strang is getting better. Those weird yellow looking pancakes, Poopoosas. They're El Salvadorian and I learned how to make them in Milano. It's like corn flour with beans, meat, and cheese in the middle and I'm amazing at making them. They're delicious. Next is what...

Lot's of random pictures are attached too. Toscano (Tuscany) is beautiful, my goodness. Siena has the sweet hills all around it and the architecture is just amazing. The Duomo there is really nice too. Fun stuff.

Other random informations. I memorized a bunch of Joseph Smith - History because it's the sweetest story ever. Basically from him being super confused to finally deciding to ask of God. Good stuff. Joseph Smith rules.

Then other various things from studies this week in Alma.
Basically this is what's going down. Alma and Amulek are just testifying like no other at the people of Ammonihah and this lawyer, Zeezrom is trying to mess with 'em.

Alma 11:22:

22 And Amulek said unto him: Yea, if it be according to theSpirit of the Lord, which is in me; for I shall say nothing which is contrary to the Spirit of the Lord. And Zeezrom said unto him: Behold, here are six onties of silver, and all these will I give thee if thou wilt deny the existence of a Supreme Being.

Here's what I noticed this time. Zeezrom offered Amulek 6 onties, which is the equivalent of about a month of a judges wage, just to say, "God doesn't exist." Judas was offered 30 shekels of silver, the price of a slave, most likely much less than a months wage of a judge, to give Christ to the people who sought to take His life. Just think about that.

Then totally different topic. Alma 7. Sweetest chapter ever. At least really sweet.
Alma 7:12-13:

12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.

(So I've read this verse millions of times. well maybe not millions but more than 5. :) And the thing that hit me this time is "loose the bands of death which bind his people." I immediately thought of families. Those who don't believe in a resurrection are bound by death, even though in reality they aren't. But they believe they are. When in reality, Christ came, died, and was resurrected so that we could follow in His footsteps and do the same. The familial part of this is that because we will all be resurrected, we can all be with our families again after this life. That's something to be excited about!)

13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.

​(In verses 12 and 13 the phrase "according to the flesh" is used 3 times if I remembered how to count correctly. I don't know if this is doctrine or not, but this is why I believe it's significant that this phrase is repeated here. I think before the Atonement, Christ could've and probably did know our sins, what we would do in our life. He knew them and He probably knew how to help us out of whatever hole in which we find ourselves. Here's the cool part. He wanted to understand us even more, because He loves us that much. Because of the Atonement He knows ACCORDING TO THE FLESH how to succor us according to our infermities. He literally felt everything we ever have felt and ever will feel ACCORDING TO THE FLESH, as in He felt that literal pain on His human body just like we do, nothing special about it besides the amount of pain He could tolerate. That's just amazing.)

To end, I want to quote again verse 13 of Alma 11, the words of Alma.
This is the testimony which is in me. Christ lives. He came onto this Earth and suffered for us. He lead a life that would later become an example for all those who followed Him after, this is, us. He loves us. He loves us so much that during His time on Earth, He took upon Himself all of our pains, sicknesses, trials, and tribulations so that He could help is in any situation in which we find ourselves. He gave us His life so that we may live again. He did more for us than we can possibly imagine. He suffered, bled and died that we may find comfort and life. He gave us light. But He didn't give us this light to bury. He gave us the light to spread.
